An acoustic piano is usually encased in a wood with the surrounding soundboard and metal strings. This musical instrument is the complicated type. But the sounds it produces will definitely bring you a nostalgic roundtrip.

The melodious sound of the piano works in its complication. The piano is a very expensive piece that you can acquire for your home. The beauty of having a piano at home adds beauty to your home added to that the sound it makes every time you played the piano.

But the biggest question in mind is why you should need to have it regularly tuned?

Well, if you are a piano owner it is your responsibility to keep and maintain your piano to make it lasts longer. One of which is to have it regularly tuned.

Yes, you heard it right. The piano does not remain in good tune forever. Actually, after a year of purchasing the piano, you have to retune it. Most especially if you get to used your piano every day.

There are certain things that we need to know in our piano and why we need to retune it regularly.

All Pianos need regular tuning yearly, twice if you used it more often. Tuning readjust the pitch of the piano to make sure that they play in harmony. Imagine the 240 strings, each one of them needs to be re-tuned in order to go back in its previous harmonious tone.

One of the primary reason why piano needs constant readjustment or tuning is to keep the combined tension of the strings of up to A440 and to equalize against the soundboard and cast iron plate.

Once the piano is re-tuned, it will go back to its good previous old sound which is pleasing to hear.

Most manufacturers of the piano recommend tuning the piano at least 3 to 4 times yearly. This will ensure that the piano will remain in good condition for the years to come.

The second reason why you should have your pianos re-tuned is the changing season. During the winter season, the wood swells which affects the sound of the piano. This will give you enough reason to have it tuned for a perfect sound immediately after the winter season.

As winter season comes in annually, same should be practiced with tuning your piano. More so, if your piano has not been used for a long time, the dust might have gotten into the strings and make it loose thus changing the sound.

If you care for your piano, you should take care of how it looks and how it sounds, because your piano is the kind of legacy you can pass on from generation to generation.
